Two Shropshire displays have 2026 dates and prices: Craven Arms on 24 October, £7 an adult, and the West Mid Showground on 7 November, £15 with children free.

Two Shropshire firework displays have confirmed 2026 dates, times and prices: the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre at Craven Arms on Saturday 24 October, and the Bonfire and Firework Spectacular at the West Mid Showground in Shrewsbury on Saturday 7 November. Bonfire Night itself falls on Thursday 5 November.

Both are on sale now. Neither falls on the 5th, which is normal for Shropshire: the county’s two biggest displays bracket it, one at the start of half term and one on the following Saturday.

Craven Arms, Saturday 24 October

The Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre on School Road, Craven Arms SY7 9RS runs what it calls “the best bonfire and fireworks around”, and its 2026 listing is complete (Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre):

  • Gates open 5pm. Bonfire lit at 7pm, fireworks at 7.30pm, event ends 8pm.
  • The gates close at 7.15pm and no one is admitted after that.
  • On the gate: £7 an adult, £5 a child, free for under-5s. Discounted advance tickets go on sale from Saturday 12 September.
  • Full bar, music, catering and family entertainment.
  • No dogs. No sparklers.
  • Parking is off site, in the town’s car parks, a short walk from the centre.

The centre is run by Grow Cook Learn, a registered charity, and the display is sponsored by Craven Arms Town Council, Euro Quality Foundation and QMG Services. The 7.15pm gate close is the detail that catches people out: arriving at 7.20 for a 7.30 display means not getting in.

Shrewsbury, Saturday 7 November

The West Mid Showground on Berwick Road, Shrewsbury SY1 2PF runs the Bonfire and Firework Spectacular, one of three annual events the Shropshire and West Midland Agricultural Society stages on its own ground.

  • Saturday 7 November 2026. Two displays: the first at 6.15pm, quieter and aimed at younger children, and a louder one at 7.45pm.
  • Adults £15. Children aged 0 to 15 go free. A carer ticket option is available at booking.
  • Camping with electric hook-up is sold alongside: £50 for the night of the 7th or £70 for both the 6th and 7th, each covering two adults and up to three children including event entry. One-night campers must arrive before 3pm.
  • All proceeds go to the society’s Rural Charity.

The start time is published two ways. The showground’s own event page says 16:00 to 21:00; its ticket shop says 16:30 to 21:00 for the same event. The 6.15pm and 7.45pm display times only appear on the event page, not on the ticket page. Plan around the displays rather than the gate time, and check the ticket confirmation.

What is not happening, or not yet announced

Oswestry. The town council’s fireworks display in Cae Glas Park was free, low-noise and run with Oswestry Borderland Rotary, but the council’s event page still shows 2 November 2024 and has not been updated (Oswestry Town Council). Shropshire Fire and Rescue’s listing for the same display is older still, dated 2012. The council has published 2026 dates for its Halloween market, its Christmas events and its Remembrance parade, so the absence of a fireworks date in the same calendar is worth noting rather than assuming. Nothing is confirmed either way.

Shropshire Council runs no display of its own. Its role at this time of year is trading standards advice on buying and using fireworks safely.

Bridgnorth, Church Stretton and Whitchurch have all had displays in recent years, run by a rugby club, a scout group and a lakeside venue respectively rather than by any council. None had published a 2026 date when we checked on 6 September. Club and scout displays are typically announced in late September and early October, so this page will be updated then.

Are the displays low noise? Oswestry’s has been in past years. Neither of the two confirmed 2026 displays is advertised as low noise, but the Shrewsbury event splits into an early display with a reduced noise level for younger children and a louder one later.
