Feeder are the first act named for Loopfest's Sunday in Shrewsbury on 2 May 2027. Ocean Colour Scene and Sleeper play the Quarry on Friday 30 April.

Feeder will play Loopfest in Shrewsbury on Sunday 2 May 2027, the first act the festival has named for that day.

The rock band, fronted by Grant Nicholas, appear under “Sunday announcements so far” on the festival’s ticket page. No Saturday act has been named yet: the weekend listing still shows “TBC” for 1 May.

The page does not yet give a stage or a time. My Shrewsbury’s report of the announcement puts the band at the Quarry, where the festival is putting its new big top.

The line-up so far

Date Who Where Tickets
Friday 30 April Ocean Colour Scene and Sleeper, more to come The Quarry, doors 5pm £56 with booking fee
Saturday 1 May To be announced Across the town Weekend ticket
Sunday 2 May Feeder, more to come Across the town Listed “from £56”

The Friday show is a fringe event with its own ticket. The organisers say Thursday and Friday fringe tickets do not include the weekend wristband.

A bigger festival

Loopfest started in the town’s pubs and bars. The organisers call 2027 their “biggest year yet”, because it moves into the Quarry for major touring acts and comedy. The weekend listing promises:

  • a “mega big top” and a fully covered bar stage at the Quarry
  • gigs at St Mary’s Church, which holds 500
  • music at LOOP, the festival’s own venue on Castle Foregate

The organisers say the 2026 festival had about 250 acts across 40 venues. Their festival page puts footfall at over 125,000 visitors. That is their own figure, and we have not seen it checked independently.

Any profits go back into LOOP, the community venue the same team runs near the railway station, according to the same page.

Which days it runs

The festival’s own pages do not quite agree on the dates, so check your ticket.

  • The 2027 announcement says four days, 29 April to 2 May
  • The festival page’s question and answer section calls it five days, then gives Thursday 29 April to Sunday 2 May
  • The site’s footer says five days from Wednesday 28 April

The main ticketed days are Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 May. The Thursday and Friday are fringe events at the Quarry.

What it means for you

If you are going, the weekend listing has the practical rules so far:

  • wristbands can be collected from 9am at the Quarry on both days
  • the Quarry stops letting people in at 9.30pm on Saturday and 8.30pm on Sunday
  • under-18s must be with an adult aged 18 or over
  • no dogs
  • smaller venues can go one-in, one-out, especially St Mary’s Church
  • tickets can be bought in person at LOOP, 13A Castle Foregate, SY1 2DJ

Companion tickets for people who need support are limited. The organisers ask for access requests by Sunday 11 April 2027, and say replies can take up to two weeks.

Shropshire Council is consulting on parking charges in Shrewsbury, including Sundays, so check prices before you drive. Other days out are in our things to do in Shropshire guide.
