Paul Heaton plays Ludlow Castle on Saturday 17 July 2027. SY7, SY8, HR6, DY14 and WR15 residents can buy first from 5 Nov; general sale is 6 Nov, 10am.

Paul Heaton will headline Ludlow Castle on Saturday 17 July 2027. People living in and around Ludlow get first go at tickets, in a postcode presale from Thursday 5 November. Everyone else can buy from 10am on Friday 6 November.

The show is part of the Live at Ludlow Castle summer concerts. The promoter’s events page says Heaton will be joined by special guest singer Rianne Downey, with more acts to be announced.

Heaton founded The Housemartins and The Beautiful South. The promoter says his set will cover “classic hits from across his career”, and that his latest album, Jenius, gave him his first solo UK number one.

Who can buy first, and how

The presale is open to residents with these postcodes:

  • SY7, the Craven Arms area
  • SY8, Ludlow
  • HR6, the Leominster area
  • DY14, the Cleobury Mortimer area
  • WR15, the Tenbury Wells area

The promoter’s ticket information page sets out how it works:

  1. Go to the Events page on liveatludlowcastle.co.uk
  2. Click Buy postcode presale under the Paul Heaton show
  3. Type the first part of your postcode, for example SY8, into the “use code” box
  4. Choose your tickets and pay

The first part of your postcode must match the billing address on the card you pay with. Tickets are sold through See Tickets. Its pages blocked our checks, so we cannot tell you the prices, and the promoter has not said what time the presale opens on Thursday.

Getting there and age limits

The promoter’s information page says:

  • Parking is at Ludlow Rugby Club, The Linney (SY8 1EE), for people coming from the south, and Ludlow Cricket Club, Burway Lane (SY8 1DT), for people coming from the north
  • car park gates open at 2pm and close at 11.30pm, with no overnight parking, and spaces are booked as a separate ticket
  • the walk up from the rugby club to the castle is steep and may not suit people with mobility difficulties or wheelchair users
  • a coach shuttle run by Forest Coaches can be booked in advance, also as a separate ticket
  • Ludlow station is half a mile from the castle
  • children under 5 are not allowed in; children aged 5 to 13 need a full-price ticket and must be with an adult at all times

Drivers are told to follow the event signs on the way in rather than a satnav.

What it means for you

  • If you live in one of the five postcodes, the presale on Thursday is your best chance of a ticket before the general sale. Check your card’s billing address first.
  • If you are driving, book parking when you buy, because it is sold separately.
  • If you have young children, under-5s cannot go, so plan around that before you book.
