Attingham's mansion closes from 2 to 27 November and reopens on 28 November. The park is open 8am to 5pm daily, except Christmas Day. Prices from £12.50.

Attingham Park stays open through the winter, but the mansion does not. The house is closed from Monday 2 November to Friday 27 November 2026 and reopens on Saturday 28 November, the National Trust’s opening calendar shows. The park, walled garden, cafe and shop are open throughout. The only day the whole estate shuts is Christmas Day.

The National Trust publishes Attingham’s hours for each day on its Attingham Park page. We read the calendar on 28 September. It runs to 31 December; the Trust has not yet published hours for January 2027.

Three things stand out:

  • The park closes an hour earlier from 2 November, at 5pm, not 6pm.
  • The cafe shuts at 3pm on Christmas Eve, an hour early.
  • Boxing Day is a normal opening day, house included.

Prices

Admission is free for National Trust members and under-fives. Non-members pay on arrival. The Trust lists a standard price and a higher Gift Aid price.

During November, with the mansion closed, the grounds ticket is the only one that applies.

Christmas at Attingham

The mansion’s hours change when it reopens on the last Saturday of November: 10.30am, half an hour earlier than its autumn opening. The calendar does not say why the house is closed for the four weeks before.

The Trust has not yet announced what Christmas at Attingham will be in 2026. No Christmas event was in its events listing for the property when we checked. We will add the details here when they are published.

What is on before then

From the Trust’s events listing for Attingham:

  • The Garden of Curious Creatures, the October half-term family trail, from 17 October to 1 November. £3.50 a trail sheet, from Visitor Reception, with a painting set prize (National Trust).
  • The Pikachu Art Adventure, from 1 October to 1 November. No booking needed.
  • Imagining India, an exhibition of objects from the house’s collection, until 27 October.
  • Behind Closed Doors, a first-floor tour about Teresa, Lady Berwick, until 31 October. Booking is essential.
  • Free volunteer-led walks through the parkland on dates in October and November, including the Deer Park Walk on 19 and 24 October and 25 November. The Trust says signing up is free and gives free entry to the site (National Trust).

The last chance to see the house before the November closure is Sunday 1 November.
